Ciao!

Welcome to my blog! My name is Sammi, and I'm a 22 year old recent graduate from the University of Pittsburgh. I now (not yet physically) have a Bachelors in English Literature and Nonfiction Writing. I have always been an avid reader, and my love of reading morphed into a love of writing when I was accepted to the Philadelphia High School for Creative and Performing Arts. There I studied Creative Writing in the same way and at the same caliber that I did in college, although I didn't know that then and took it for granted.
Throughout my time learning how to hone this skill, people have given me the advice to create a blog in order to practice my hobby while getting my work out to the public. I have put it off for some time, scared of what would happen if I did this, and finally I have grown the balls to do it. I have always been afraid of wearing makeup; it has always looked too complicated and every attempt I made at using it ended with me resembling Bozo the clown. So I have avoided it at all costs. But there's something about working my first grown up job and being a "professional" that makes me want to put a little more (as little as possible) effort into my appearance, so I decided to give makeup another try...and chronicle it. Hopefully I can help some other makeup beginners feel more comfortable, but at least it'll be entertaining to watch me try this stuff out.

Important Note About My Writing

I am attracted to writers who tell the truth, no matter how painfully embarrassing that truth can be. This is what I aim for in my writing. I work to share experiences and reflections on experiences that I have pulled through with the hopes that someone who may be experiencing something similar can draw inspiration or some shred of strength from knowing that I made it out alive. This isn't to say that I have lived through a lot, but I know how it feels to be in a situation and have no idea how to face it and think that no one else in the world knows what you're going through. I hope to help someone in the same way my favorite authors have helped me, by showing me that other people experience these emotional, embarrassing, painful events too.
